STILL HAVE A PAPER PILOT CERTIFICATE?
http://www.eaaonline.org/ls.cfm?r=23746982&sid=8398750&m=908395&u=ExAA&s=http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/certificate_replacement/Pilots who still have not replaced their old paper pilot certificate should do so now or risk being unable to exercise their hard-earned privileges in the not-too-distant future. All paper pilot certificates will expire after March 31, 2010. FAR 61.19(h) reads: "Except for a temporary certificate issued under §61.17 or a student pilot certificate issued under paragraph (b) of this section, the holder of a paper pilot certificate issued under this part may not exercise the privileges of that certificate after March 31, 2010."

Click here to replace your airmen certificate. The FAA says to allow 4 to 6 weeks for mail processing and 7 to 10 days for online processing so don't delay!

WELL, what a turn of events.
I just finished up with the monthly Airport Advisory Board meeting. The proposal that we had put forward for consideration wasn’t on the agenda. And while this would normally get me extremely upset, there is a bright spot. It was announced that the hangar is currently being leased to a gentleman for $225 per slot. The catch is that he must be out within 48 hours if a new tenant can be found. The remaining slots are open for the same rate and restrictions. We weren’t brief about the office space, but were told that the city is actively seeking a new tenant.
This would give some room to negotiate if the group is still interested. If the city wants to lease the building for $225, then I could argue that we would not need to provide insurance coverage.
Additionally, I could continue to try to barter services for space, including the office area. However, I can see some logistical problems with operating from a community hangar without maintaining some form of control.
Despite the “setback”, I’m encouraged that during the discussion about the building, I was able to mention the plan and received positive encouragement. One member even suggested we put in a proposal for a land lease with the premise of telling the city to take it or leave it. This wasn’t a slap at us. Rather, he, too, is pretty feed up with the way the city has been handling the affairs of the airport.

Regards,
Carl Brown
